Octavio Calvo is a hyper-realist painter with a great sincerity in his artistic creation. His pictorial language is an exquisite combination of beauty and harmony, however, he is not lacking in high note, which dominates personal and realistic tone, his work is a good example of this.
His tenacity to achieve pictorial truth deserves to be taken into account, a lover of Art for Art, who in his mature years fully dedicated his life to the noble task of revealing authenticity.

Calvo was born in Buenos Aires, on 8 November 1954, left the country and settled in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, where he spent his childhood and adolescence in which it was appropriate to relate to the Uruguayan Esteban Garino watercolorist, who had the revelation of what can be achieved in this difficult medium of expression artística.Tambien, in his early career in architecture, took classes in painting with another artist, Perez Molinari.

Argentina returns to the princes of 1976. when he was based in La Rioja, from the year 2000 begins to publicize their work for the first time in his career. After several awards for its work, the artist, toured the country with several of his exhibitions. We can highlight some as "The expression of Rock" (2003) where the artist depicted the history of rock and roll icons highlighting outstanding. "Tribute to Octavio The Hill" (2005) in recognition of the first painter of La Rioja, "My Refuge" (2005) which celebrated the life and beauty framing fragments of everyday life. "Confluence" (2006) was an exhibition at the National Congress which showed Calvo a cultural focal point at the time of La Rioja, where among other works displayed the outline of the controversial play, then running, "Encounter." Subsequently, 2007, the artist turns to the historical portrait with his exhibition "Between light and shadow" and in 2008 continued with the portraits of past and present in the exhibition "Faces and Masks."

In July 2006 he completed the mural "Encounter" 6 meters by 4 to the Cathedral of the city of La Rioja, whose impact came to be taken up in various international media, and after being censured by a wall covered it achieved by a controversial court decision and abundant, being exposed, creating a unique background for art.

In 2007 the mural "The Way of Wisdom School Gabriela Mistral. Is currently in the preparation of two murals for the bicentennial.

In June 2009 set out in La Plata UNLP invited by the Cultural Center in the Falkland Islands the exhibition "Our Garden of Olives." After this, make a small sample in the Presidency of the UNLP "Joaquin" (portraits of the founder of the university don Joaquin V. Gonzalez) which, after the Legislature set out in La Plata, is shown in the University Expo 2009 Pasaje Dardo Rocha in that city

It features works in various private collections in Miami, Madrid, Mallorca, Dubai, Bs As, Salta, Mendoza, Cordoba, La Rioja (among them the province's legislature and government house), Montevideo and Punta del Este. And he has participated in auctions in Punta del Este, including the likes of Perez Celis, Paez Vilaro, Blanes Viale, Torres García between others.
